To deepen the collaboration in education between the university and the enterprise, and broaden the students' perspective in industry, on the afternoon of January 8th, the teachers from the Civil Engineering Department of the Storage and Construction Engineering College led 24 international students from 9 countries along the "Belt and Road Initiative" such as Morocco, to the No. 3 Branch of China Construction First Group for a recognition internship and exchange activity.
The Party Committee Deputy Secretary of the Shandong Branch of China Construction First Group, Liu Jialong, and other members of the company's leadership, representatives from relevant departments of the company, and young employees' representatives from the Shandong Branch and the International Engineering Division held a discussion and exchange meeting with the students.
At the beginning of the activity, both sides watched an introductory video to fully understand each other's development history, core advantages, and cultural spirit. Subsequently, Li Huanyu from the International Engineering Division detailed the company's main business sectors, focusing on the "one core and multiple branches" strategic layout for overseas markets, and shared the construction achievements of iconic projects such as the new administrative capital CBD in Egypt, demonstrating China's construction strength and responsibility at the international platform. Dr. Jie Ren and Chen Jinping introduced the nationality composition, educational background, and study plans of the international students, and combined professional theories to analyze several representative industrial and civil construction projects undertaken by the company, deepening the students' understanding of the practical application of professional knowledge.
During the free discussion session, the students asked some questions about the industry development and professional practice, sharing their own career plans, and conducted in-depth discussions with the company representatives on the core capabilities required for joining international engineering enterprises, the talent demands for overseas projects, and cross-cultural collaboration. The company's technical and management personnel gave detailed answers and valuable suggestions based on industrial trends and their own experience. Liu Jialong concluded his speech by expressing high expectations for the international students, stating that the doors of China Construction First Group are always open to outstanding overseas talents. He hopes that the international students will deeply specialize in their majors, learn Chinese well, and can not only contribute to the construction of the motherland but also act as bridges for exchanges between Chinese and foreigners in the fields of civil engineering.
This cognitive practice and exchange activity has established a good platform for interaction between the university and the enterprise, allowing the international students to closely experience the good characteristics of top domestic construction enterprises. It effectively broadened the international perspective and career understanding of the students, promoted the close connection between theory and practice, and laid a solid cognitive foundation for future engagement in civil engineering careers, especially in the "Belt and Road" construction field. Both parties expressed that they will carry out more in-depth and extensive exchanges and cooperation in areas such as talent training, scientific research cooperation, and student emplo
